From the creators of 1Sheeld, Togglit is a new open source, Arduino-based automation kit that turns your ordinary door locks and light switches into smartphone-controlled devices. Unveiled back at Maker Faire Bay Area, the beauty of the DIY set is that not only is it sleek and aesthetically pleasing for your home, assembly only calls for a screwdriver — no programming, no wires, no headaches!

In the video below, you’ll notice that the demo was built using an Arduino Uno (ATmega328) and the 1Sheeld (ATmega162). What’s neat, though, is that Togglit can run on just about any hardware platform, ranging from Arduino to Raspberry Pi, and is entirely customizable.

Interested? Togglit is now available for pre-order on its website.
