Playing a first-person shooter game with just a mouse and keyboard is so 2015. This year, it looks like cosmetics are becoming the controller of the future. Just ask Chloe Desmoineaux, who is conquering Counter-Strike‘s iconic battlefields and combatting her foes with a tube of lipstick.
To bring the idea for Lipstrike to life, Desmoineaux connected the lipstick to her PC via a Makey Makey kit (ATmega32U4), which allows her to trigger weapons whenever she raises it to her lips and completes the circuit. By changing the game’s defaults, she is able to navigate across the map and do more with one hand on the mouse — left-click to move forward, right to aim and scroll-wheel to switch her ammunition.
Those intrigued may be want to check out Desmoineaux’s Lipstrike sessions on Twitch, which will be streamed until June. As absurd as this project sounds, it’s even better in action. Watch it below!
