With the introduction of digital art, creating has become more efficient for artists. In an effort to streamline the process even further, Japanese concept artist Wataru Kami developed a tool that other digital artists may want to add to their artillery.
BrushKnob is a very simple control device designed to make Photoshop tools more intuitive for users. The gadget only has two functions: the knob controls the brush size, and the switch allows you to switch between the brush and eraser tools.
BrushKnob works by connecting the device to a computer, and the computer then recognizes it as an extra keyboard by interpreting the signals as keyboard shortcuts. Not only will BrushKnob work with Photoshop, but it supports other apps that have the same keyboard shortcuts assigned.
At the heart of this nifty, palm-sized tool is an ATiny85. Kami has also made BrushKnob’s open source with its code and circuitry available on GitHub.
